We have partnered with Learning with Technology to assist in choosing a compatible device to be used while at School and at Home.

The school cannot take responsibility for your child’s device, therefore you may like to consider a maintenance agreement when purchasing. It is also advisable to add the device to your home insurance policy.

Windows PC Laptop Requirements

Minimum operating system

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • Wireless 802.11ac (WiFi 5) or 802.11ax (WiFi 6)
  • Battery life of a rating of at least 10 hours
  • Minimum screen size 13″

Minimum device internal hardware

  • i5 (or greater) processor/ CPU
  • Protective carry bag
  • 8gb RAM
  • SSD 256gb
  • Windows 10 (not version S) or Windows 11 (not version S)

Apple MacBook/ Air Requirements

Minimum operating system

  • macOS 10.15 or macOS 11
  • Wireless 802.11ac (WiFi 5) or
  • Battery life of a rating of at least 10 hours
  • Minimum screen size 13″

Minimum device internal hardware

  • i5 (or new generation Apple equivalent) processor/ CPU
  • 8gb RAM
  • SSD 256gb

The following devices/ operating systems are not approved for use on the school network

  • Android
  • Chrome Books
  • Linux
  • IPads
  • Windows 10 version S or Windows 11 version S

BYOD Minimum Software requirements

Antivirus software

  • For Windows machines the built in Windows Defender is adequate. No additional anti-virus or security software is required
  • For Macs – an option is below

Internet browsers that are up to date:

  • Google Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Microsoft EDGE

Please note: Laptops must be brought to school fully charged.

Chargers will not be permitted to be used at school nor will they be loaned out.

OneDrive for Education

We strongly encourage Students to use OneDrive to keep their data safe and secure. OneDrive is available to all students and is accessed with their @schools.sa.edu.au email account. Further information can be obtained by Students from Student Central IT Services.

Internet Dongles

Free internet access is available to students who don’t have reliable internet at home. This is through the ‘Student Home Internet Program’.

Reliable internet access supports online study at home, for the purpose of extended learning.
