Birdwood High School students achieved the following outstanding results in the 2017 Australian Olive Oil young judges competition at the Royal Adelaide Show.

Individual Award Winners
Champion – Bradley Hicks
Reserve Champion – Trent Moullae

This year’s achievement is particularly impressive as the level of proficiency has risen across all schools. As a result of their success, Bradley and Trent were special guests at the Australian Olive Oil Association Conference and Competition Awards Dinner.

Birdwood High School is incredibly proud of these students and their exceptional achievement in this esteemed state competition. Students received their awards and prizes in a ceremony at the Royal Adelaide Show and in a school formal assembly.

High Tea
SACE Stage 2 Food and Hospitality students have been studying Socio-cultural Influences. This required the students to develop collaboration and problems solving skills to prepare and serve a contemporary ‘High Tea’ to guests.

The Stage 2 Class was enthusiastic about the opportunity of preparing and serving a ‘High Tea’ even though they knew very little about the social and cultural influence of an old tradition. All of the students effectively participated in the decision making, preparing and serving the food and beverages to 15 guests. The feedback from the guests was outstanding and credit was made to the students for all of their hard work.
