School is Back – Wednesday 27 January

January 20, 2021

Dear Parent/Caregiver

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your family to the 2021 school year at Birdwood High School, and we anticipate it will be a positive, enjoyable and rewarding experience.

We believe that parents and caregivers have a significant influence on student learning and that schooling is most effective when working together in partnership.

Day one will be a day where we will support every learner organise their books, laptop electronic file system, lockers and better understand our policies and procedures for the year.  Students will be issued a diary and we encourage all students to bring with them a combination lock.  A focus will be placed on goals setting and building relationships.  All year 8 students are reminded, similar to their transition days, mobile phones will be handed in at the start of the day and collection will occur at Student Central.  All other students are reminded no mobile phones permitted, exceptions granted for NDSS medical purposes.

As a Bushfire Category 1 zoned school we will be practicing our Emergency Response procedures throughout the day.

We will be hosting a meet and greet for all families to meet their child’s Advisory teachers and share important information. The school will communicate further with you via our distribution channels.

Please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s Advisory teacher.
