Dux 2017

January 22, 2018

Completing Year 12 was a difficult journey and required a lot of hard work and perseverance throughout the year. It required me to try my hardest at all times and utilise my work ethic, which was exhausting but strangely rewarding at the same time. My teachers at Birdwood High enabled me strive for the best I could possibly achieve with their constant support and help, which was a key factor in finishing Year 12. I also had my family as a support system, my mum as inspiration, who were there for me throughout the ups and downs of the whole year and kept me sane. If I had any advice for future year 12s; try your hardest and don’t give up. It is the most rewarding experience to know that you did absolutely everything you could to get your achieved mark/grade. Don’t deprive yourself of that feeling by developing poor study habits and not trying. It can be difficult to balance work, a social life and school but it is possible with compromise and work ethic; year 12 is made out to be a whole year of stress, but there were so many experiences I had this year that were highlights of my schooling life. Try your hardest and you will be rewarded.
