Incorporating Road Safety Across the Curriculum

At Birdwood, we have made a conscious decision to use Road Safety, where possible, as a theme or topic in a whole range of subject areas. Below are some examples of the ways in which our teachers have incorporated some Road Safety into their particular subjects.

Where a school has a "middle schooling" focus, in which one teacher may have a class for two or more subjects, Road Safety could be an excellent theme to use. For example, in Society & Environment the students could look at road/intersection design, then in English they could write letters to the local authorities to have them changed.
