The Senior Years curriculum at Birdwood is delivered through the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

Birdwood High School’s senior years commence in Year 10 with the study of the Personal Learning Plan. Our school offers students an extensive range of subject choices whilst also offering both on-line (taught at school)and off-line (delivered off campus for full or half days) courses at other training institutions. In addition, students are able to study Certificate I, II and III, part-time at TAFE SA as part of their SACE studies.

Work experience, a Careers Expo and an extensive careers course counselling process (led by our Student Engagement and Wellbeing and VET Leaders and involving parents, teaching staff and students), ensures students’ academic, future study, and career aspirations are explored and future pathways are based upon an informed choice.

To browse through our subjects offered please refer to our 2024 Curriculum Handbook.

Please note, should there be a subject not listed and one would like to pursue this subject please make contact with the Leader of Studies, Richard Hollands on 8568 5100.
